About MDTS
MEED Digital Tech Studio is equipped with the latest in Apple technology and software that has integrated universal access features. Here in the studio videos and alternative format materials that are accessible are developed by students who are getting training, service, and work experience as they transition to employment. Visitors from as far as Chicago have heard about us and visited the Center to get a sense of our vision and innovation in making the postsecondary education experience fully accessible.
An Innovations Center
The ACCESS-MEED Center has become a focal point of innovation. Applying principles of universal design, the center has set up continuing partnerships with the faculty and with Virtual College to make the College learning experiences more accessible and sustainable than ever. We are creating new learning modules that can be downloaded from iTunesU, and we are integrating the use of Apps and screen-capturing software with curricula to facilitate access to learning for all students, not just those with disabilities. The Center also features The Friday Series, which provides the faculty and staff with exposure to technology, health and wellness and disability awareness, each Friday and provided in brief, accessible mini-sessions.
